The XML package in the Omegahat tree provides high-level access to the Java API for parsing XML documents both at the Java programming and the Omegahat scripting levels. Support for a basic data frame format and readers for creating data frames from these files are also provided. Some tools for validating XML files are available in the Validation/ directory.

Finally, facilities for parsing XML in both R and SPlus (versions 5 and higher) are given in the RS directory.
